Roseburg Police were called to the Walmart parking lot on Saturday afternoon after two men allegedly got into a confrontation.
A release from RPD says a 28-year-old Roseburg resident called police to report what appeared to be unattended children in a car. Prior to officers arriving on scene, the father of the children allegedly confronted the 28-year-old and threatened to assault and kill the man.
Both men caused a scene in the parking lot, according to police, and the father was “extremely confrontational” with officers. The father, a 49-year-old Roseburg resident, continued to instigate a fight while officers were on scene and made vague threats of violence towards police, according to the release.
The father was charged with two counts of second-degree disorderly conduct and menacing. He was lodged at Douglas County Corrections, but has since been released.
The 28-year-old was cited for second degree disorderly conduct and released.
