Snow apparently contributed to a single-vehicle injury accident Tuesday morning in the Dillard area.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 4:40 a.m. an 18-year old driver was traveling southbound on Old Highway 99 South near the north end of the Roseburg Forest Product’s property. The driver had just started to speed up when the vehicle spun out and turned 180 degrees. It struck a power pole on the passenger’s side and rear.

The driver had a large laceration on the top of his head and was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center via ambulance. The RFP sign at that location was damaged and the driver was advised to contact the company. The power pole had no damage. No tow truck was available to take the vehicle and it was off the roadway, so a deputy put crime scene tape on it. The driver planned to make arrangements to get the vehicle removed from the location.
