Roseburg Police jailed a man Tuesday for an alleged prior menacing incident.

An RPD report said officers contacted a victim at his residence in the 1300 block of Southeast Court Avenue on June 24th. The victim claimed that the 62-year-old suspect chased him out of the house with a kitchen knife while lunging the knife at him. The victim said he later held his bathroom door shut while the suspect stabbed the knife through the door at him. The victim told officers he thought the suspect was going to kill him.

The suspect turned himself in to the Roseburg Police Department at 2:00 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident. The man was charged with menacing. Bail was set at $6,250.
