A Roseburg man was jailed following a reported assault and for drug charges Wednesday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 9:00 p.m. a victim claimed that 42-year- old Michael Townley had punched her in the face multiple times. The victim had a cut on her nose and a large bump on her forehead. While talking to Townley, he admitted to having marijuana and methamphetamine. The deputy allegedly located 3 grams of meth on his person and there were 5 large glass jars of marijuana in plain view in the back seat of the suspect’s vehicle. Another deputy reportedly located 185 grams of meth packaged in 3 bags in the victim’s vehicle. The victim said the meth belonged to Townley and she didn’t know it was in her clothing.
Townley was charged with 4th-degree assault, unlawful possession and delivery of meth, and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was detained without bail. The victim was cited for a felony count of unlawful possession of meth.
