The Roseburg City Council will have first reading of an ordinance repealing and replacing a section of Roseburg Municipal Code regarding prohibited camping, at its meeting Monday night.
Notes from staff says the city has until the end of June to adopt updated ordinances regarding time, place and manner as it relates to camping on public property. This ordinance would prohibit camping at all times at a number of locations in the city limits. It also subjects camping to a number of conditions, where it is allowed. Three telecommunications franchise renewal ordinances are also on the agenda.
Mayor Larry Rich will proclaim May 21st to May 27th as Emergency Medical Services Week. He will also proclaim the same dates as National Public Works Week.
Other items are on the agenda as well. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. It can be seen on the city’s Facebook page or viewed later at www.cityofroseburg.org
