The Roseburg High School Marching Ensemble received high marks at the Northwest Association for Performing Arts Championships at the University of Oregon on Saturday.
Band instructor Branden Hansen said the band performed its Greek-inspired show, “Wrath of the Gods”. Hansen said 20 bands from Oregon, California and Washington were in attendance. Roseburg placed 8th in the preliminary’s and 10th in the finals. They earned a score of 81.6 and 81 respectively.
Hansen said these are the highest placements and scores on record for RHS in at least 20 years. After performing their show at the RHS football field Monday night, the group is preparing for the Veterans’ Day Parade on Saturday November 11th.
