Mop up continues on the Cedar Creek Fire near Bear Creek in the Callahan Mountains, approximately fourteen miles northwest of Roseburg.
Rachel Pope of the Douglas Forest Protective Association said the landowner’s heavy equipment has aided in the effort. The 10.2 acres fire was first spotted shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Pope said resources are continuing the work Tuesday. The progress made will determine the planning and required resources needed for the next several days. As mop up continues, smoke may be visible in the area.
The cause of the Cedar Creek Fire remains under investigation.
