MAN JAILED FOR WARRANT FOLLOWING TRAFFIC ACCIDENT Kyle Bailey on April 14, 2023 at 4:44 pm

A Roseburg man was jailed for a warrant after being involved in a traffic accident on Thursday afternoon.

A Roseburg Police report said just after 3:15 p.m. the 50-year old was traveling southbound on Northeast Stephens Street when he pulled into the turn lane at the intersection with Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard, to make a left turn. The man made the turn on a flashing yellow light. His vehicle was struck by a sedan that was northbound on Northeast Stephens. The second driver had entered the intersection on a green light. The first driver admitted to turning on a flashing yellow light.

While an officer was on the scene of the wreck, dispatch informed him that the first driver had a warrant for his arrest out of Marion County. The man was held for the warrant and detained without bail. He was released later in the day. He was also cited for failing to obey a traffic signal and for driving uninsured.

No one was hurt in the accident.
