Less than seven percent of local voters have cast a ballot in the May Special Districts Election as of late Friday.
Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said that 6,049 ballots have been received. That is 6.9 percent of registered voters, which lags 1.59 percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the May 2021 Special Districts Election.
Loomis said voters who have not received a ballot should contact his office weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Ballots can be mailed in or taken to one of the fifteen ballot drop sites located around the county.
