In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
Lenten Meditations in Music is underway at First Presbyterian Church in Roseburg.
The annual series is designed to be a time for gathering and prayerful contemplation on Fridays during Lent. Presentations go from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the church’s sanctuary at 823 Southeast Lane Avenue downtown. They include:
*March 10th: The Celestial Tollers Handbell Choir directed by Pat Mehlhoff and the Evensong Handbell Choir directed by Elizabeth Lonergan
*March 17th: Flutes and Voices with singers Donna Spicer, Brenda Olson, and Tonnie Bernhardson accompanied by flutists Wanda Eddy, Michelle Juett, Steven Lounsbury and Pat Mehlhoff
*March 24th; Pianist Karen Gibbs
*March 31st; Roseburg Baroque Ensemble with Justin Mackintosh, Steven Lounsbury, Cynthia Turner and Hannah LaGassey
*April 7th: Traditional Good Friday Readings and Music: Rev. Vicky Brown with readings, and pianist Tammy Finch-Johnson
