The disinfection system at the City of Reedsport Wastewater Treatment Plant failed on Sunday, leading to a spill of 715,000 gallons of partially treated effluent.
Information from city staff said the disinfection was quickly restored and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and Oregon Emergency Spill Response were contacted and notified about the situation.
