COOS BAY MAN JAILED FOLLOWING REPORTED MENACING INCIDENT Kyle Bailey on February 14, 2023 at 5:39 pm

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Coos Bay man following a reported menacing incident Monday afternoon.

Information from DCSO said at about 12:30 p.m. a victim was transporting 38-year old David Roche to an airport. While in the Elkton area on Highway 38, Roche allegedly stated that he was going to kill the other occupants in the vehicle. then reportedly grabbed the steering wheel several times and tried to cause a crash.

The driver stopped the vehicle at Elkton Elementary School. The suspect and the victim walked into the school and had a verbal disturbance. Roche was then detained. He was charged with menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct, and for reckless endangering. Roche was detained without bail.
