Douglas County Commissioners Tom Kress, Chris Boice and Tim Freeman have announced that most county government offices will be closed on Tuesday July 4th in observance of the Independence Day Holiday.

A County release said that includes the courthouse, justice building, the courthouse annex in Reedsport, the landfill and transfer sites, and all external government offices.

Both the Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History and the Umpqua River Lighthouse Museum in Winchester Bay will be open on July 4th during their normal hours.

Bistro Sixty Senior Dining Sites and the Meals on Wheels programs will be closed for July 4th. Meal delivery customers can request an additional meal on their deliveries on Thursday June 29th to help hold them over until the next meal delivery on July 6th.

All county operated parks, campgrounds and boat ramps will be open over the holiday.

Even though the Sheriff’s Office lobby entrance will be closed on July 4th, deputies, 911 communications and other DCSO staff will continue to provide law enforcement protection and emergency assistance for residents.
