Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged disturbance Friday night.
The RRP report said at about 11:30 p.m. officers contacted the 39-year old man after a caller said the suspect had sprayed a victim was bear mace, near the corner of Northwest Mulholland Driver and Northwest Cecil Avenue. The suspect told officers he had sprayed the man in self-defense after the victim allegedly swung at him, but witness statements said otherwise.
The man was taken into custody and told officers he had methamphetamine in his pocket. He was charged with a second-degree count of unlawful use of an electrical stun gun, tear gas or mace, and was cited for unlawful possession of meth. He was detained without bail.
