An arboreal art exhibit called “Tapes-Trees in the Park” opens Thursday at 12:00 p.m. in Roseburg’s Fir Grove Park on West Harvard Avenue.

Roseburg Parks and Recreation teamed up with the Umpqua Valley Arts Association to cosponsor the exhibit as a way to spotlight the work of local fiber artists.

It will be unveiled in a grand opening ceremony in the parking lot near the Stewart Park Drive Bridge, across from Fir Grove Elementary School.

The artwork will be showcased during the UVA’s Summer Arts Festival Friday through Sunday, with the plan being to keep the project up through the summer. Forty-two trees on the multi-use path on the north side of the park near the South Umpqua River have been decorated with the fiber arts.

For more information on the exhibit call 492-6899 or email: parks@cityofroseburg.org
