Motorists should expect weekday delays and lane closures on Northwest Troost Street and Northwest Calkins Avenue this summer as contractors begin a storm drainage pipe installation project next week.
A City of Roseburg release said work will start Monday. It will involve installing about 1,000 linear feet of 36-inch and 24-inch diameter storm drainage pipe in Troost Street from Calkins Avenue to Northwest Witherspoon Avenue. The project will also include installation of about 800 linear feet of 12-inch diameter storm pipe in the 2100 block of Calkins Avenue.
Work will take place weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The project is expected to be completed in September.
The release said the project is funded out of just over $1.5 million in American Rescue Plan Act money that was routed through the State Fiscal Recovery Fund for storm improvement projects.
During the construction, there will be lane closures and detours to route vehicle traffic around the work zone. Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the area.
