12.75 percent of local voters have cast a ballot in the May Special Districts Election, as of late Wednesday.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said the 11,184 ballots that have been received, lags 0.32 percent behind the participation rate for the last Special Districts Election two years ago.

Loomis said ballots must be cast no later than 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night May 16th. Ballots can be turned in at one of fifteen ballot drop sites around the county. A list of those locations and complete election information is linked: https://douglascounty-oregon.us/178/Elections
