The Roseburg Budget Committee will meet starting Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.
A City of Roseburg release said the 16-person committee – comprised of eight city councilors and eight Roseburg residents will discuss the proposed budget. They may also meet Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday night, as needed until the budget is approved.
Residents can watch the meeting in person or on the city’s Facebook page. Public comment can be provided in person or via Zoom or email. The proposed budget is $104,307,207 for fiscal year 2023/2024. There will also be a public hearing o possible uses of about $305,000 in state local government shared revenue funds.
During the meeting City Manager Nikki Messenger, Finance Director Ron Harker and other officials will give a PowerPoint presentation overview of the proposed budget and answer questions.
The Roseburg Urban Renewal Agency Budget Committee – comprised of the same 16 members – will meet directly after the city budget is approved. That meeting is also open to the public and is livestreamed as well.
