Sutherlin Police jailed two women Wednesday for a long list of crimes.
Captain Kurt Sorenson said SPD has been investigating after a victim had their wallet and some items recently stolen from a vehicle. Sorenson said one of the victim’s cards was used at several locations in Douglas County to purchase food.
A 33-year old woman was charged with three counts each of identity theft, unlawful possession of a personal ID device, and computer crime, and for third-degree theft.
A 44-year old woman was held for two counts each of identity theft, unlawful possession of a personal ID device, and computer crime, along with second-degree theft
Both were detained without bail. Sorenson said one of the women was arrested at a Sutherlin residence while the second came into the police department later in the afternoon. A third person is a suspect in this case but has not yet been contacted.
