The high school basketball season came to an end in Douglas County with trophy games for three local teams on Saturday. 

The Sutherlin girls fell to the third place game in the Class 3A playoffs after a frustrating offensive game in the semifinals on Friday. The Bulldogs bounced back in the third place game to beat Santiam Christian 46-31 on Saturday at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay.  

Micah Wicks finished with 12 points to lead Sutherlin and Addyson Clark added 11.

Wicks was a unanimous first team All-Tournament selection. She averaged 17.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game in the tournament. 

The North Douglas boys beat Open Door Christian Academy 70-57 for 3rd place in the Class 1A basketball state tournament at Baker High School in Baker City. Ray Gerrard had 22 points and 17 rebounds in the final game of the season.

The senior big man averaged a double-double in the tourney with 22.7 points, 15.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. Gerrard was named to the All-tournament first team. 

The North Douglas girls settled for a sixth place finish in the 1A playoffs at Baker High School. The Lady Warriors lost 43-41 against Jordan Valley on Saturday morning.

Savannah Harkins had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Brooke McHaffie led North Douglas with 16 points.
