Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an armed robbery which occurred Thursday evening at Log Cabin Grocery, north of Roseburg.
Lieutenant Brad O’Dell said just after 8:00 p.m. 911 dispatchers received a report of the incident which took place in the 4700 block of Northeast Stephens Street. O’Dell said multiple law enforcement officers from DCSO and the Roseburg Police Department responded.
Deputies have learned that a white adult male, approximately 5 foot 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds, entered the store and displayed a handgun. O’Dell said the suspect began trying to gain access to the cash registers. The man then grabbed a register containing an undisclosed amount of cash, and ran out of the store with it.
After an exhaustive search, deputies located evidence but were unable to immediately locate the suspect.
O’Dell said, “We are aggressively investigating this incident and will continue to bring this individual to justice”. O’Dell said anyone who may have observed anything suspicious before or after the robbery is asked to share that information with law enforcement. O’Dell said, “What may seem like a small or insignificant bit of information may help to solve the case”.
