Greater Douglas United Way will launch its 70th Annual Giving Campaign on Thursday September 5th.

It will begin with a 7:00 a.m. breakfast fundraiser at Splitz Family Grill on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard, sponsored by Kelley Connect.

GDUW Executive Director Bryan Trenkle said campaign leaders, board members and key donors will gather with representatives of member agencies who provide crucial services throughout Douglas County. Trenkle said the morning will include an auction and the unveiling of the 2024-25 Giving Campaign theme.

Trenkle said, “The purpose of the Kickoff Breakfast is to stoke the passion of key United Way supporters, raise awareness for our agencies that provide critical services and programs in our area, raise some money and have fun”. Trenkle said the bar has been set high again this year as celebrating 70 years of helping people throughout Douglas County is no small feat. Trenkle said, “This year being so monumental, we’re hoping to make this one, one of our very best efforts…but we’re needing everyone to get involved…to see more proof of how our community continues to give back”.

Twenty-three local nonprofit member agencies and another 200+ non-profit organizations benefitted from last year’s campaign.

To sign up for the breakfast event, call United Way at 672-1734. Get more information about the organization on their Facebook page or at www.gduway.org
